Ati are moving to dx11 and 45nm(40nm?) with the r800 afaik which will improve the power consumption, Nvidia are playing catch up atm. The new Intel socket is starting to appear now so 775 will be defunct in a couple of years and AMDs am3 socket is due soon so it may be worth delaying till spring and buying into the next gen.
Spring? I might be dead by then...
Never had an ASUS or Gigglebot... best read up on the specs...
If 775 is out whats the new form factor these days? I got so shafted with my 939 they brought the AM2s out a few weeks after I bought it...
Anyone got a decent site to recommed for the bits?

www.ebuyer.com id go here but its in a diffrent county so i have to order usualy pitence for delivery on goods over £50.00 and you get upgraded for what time you want it delivered morning 7.30-12/aft12-6
satdays is a tad expensive
note even on the 5 day delivery(was usualy free on orders over £50.00 for say mobo or graphics card) ive never had to wait more than 2 but this could be a location thing
anyone else noticed all these sites no longer ship for free over £50.00 after the bank thing
same goes for overclockersuk
there good to keep an eye on as they sell stuff at riddiculas price on end of stock items and have bargain days if you sign up for the spam somtimes they even [c*ck] up on listed items and you get an order in quick
a few of us got 2600xts @ £21.00 fan /£25.00 silent ddr3 versions
also sky got a cheap 3870 at the time
ccl i got the ill fated msi crossfire board £30.00 (nb heatsink cant take oc even tho it has a high overvolt in bios
