I agree, "money" and "the easy option" seems to be the business plan of game developers in the last couple of years.

If Infinity Ward (IW) wanted the game to be the same on all platforms, they could have created SADS for PC and Consoles, however they took the easy option and decided to just deny SADS for PC users as this would save money. The "IW NET" and lack of SDK info is definitely a means of controlling DLC for all platforms.

However, this may back fire on them. The popularity of all the COD series would seem to be due to the PC, it supported clans, clans provided community servers where "joe public" members could play on for free. The customisation of the games allowed for numerous game experiences, and the PC platform developed mods/maps that added more variation and longevity to the titles.

Since MW2 seems to be so anti-clan out of the box, the interest from the PC community will dwindle. Past experience of PC titles using P2P networking would strongly suggest the MP will be a laggy failure. Lack of SADS with custom server configs and mods will mean interest will be short lived. The game will get old before its time.

Clans will find another game to commit to.

it seems to me the developers are pushing for people to buy a console as it will be no different if on the pc. (and more kiddies own consoles)

i think PC fps gaming is coming to its end, im just glad we lived the high life with farcry!

im also glad i cancelled my order a while ago, even though that was for different reasons (game being arseholes lol) and i will prob download now and not even buy.

dont think its any better my friend all hack for the games can be simply inserted in the client file no injections needed..so far in l4d i,ve had rapid fireduel pistols automatic reload shotgun havent felt adding slight speed increase on run merits it..note most of the tf2 cheats worked on release with this game
now you see why the l4d gamers are pissed we have console system to join games same goes for tf2 everythings been changed to the console setup in the browse server menus(unless of course you type in pc console for a list)

its the future guys they make more money for a console title than they do for a pc £20 pc compard to £50.00 console which will stay at this price longer than a pc version..

also remember the 360 is just a pc called an xbox just use a diffrent cpu but lower specs

The only good thing to announce at the moment is that this news has created a s-h-i-t storm across numerous gaming sites and forums. There are rumours over 2000 pre-orders have been cancelled on Amazon alone.

Hopefully these console bumming devs will take their heads out their arse and listen to the community.

not much looking at the PC Release Callendar
I pre-ordered Borderlands which cobimes my 2 favorite genres shooter and rpg with up to 4man co-op
seen some streams of people playing (eventhough its not out yet) and it looks good

34040 signatures so far, Infinity Ward are going to have some explaining to do tomorrow (monday).

The IW forums almost melted earlier due to the sheer volume of posts complaining about it, indeed 1 thread had over 130 pages (in a day!) and the mods deleted it (typical!!!!)

Compare 34040 to the couple thousand FarCry 2 Assault petition....shows how much bigger this game is!
