ok ive bought a media and wanna rip my dvds to avi so i can pack all my dvds away


any1 know of any good ripping programs....

not the original dvd.....but the ripping programs that convert dvd to avi??

you can use ati,s avivo if uve got an ati card . x1000 and above series

vlc media player also converts to various formats avi mpeg1 2 div x 12 etc u get the drift etc same as avivo and is free havent used it for a long time .

as im going the opposite way avi to dvd using converttodvd i got it free with some [sh*t] and never stopped using it or id be using avivo or vlcplayer

you can actaully just rip very easily using vlc media player.it may be slightly slower about the same time it takes to watch the film but its perfect

i have tried vlc with the rip dvd but it was having trouble with the file format...the files were on my desktop....maybe i shoulda tried from dvd :oops:

Cant you use DVD Shrink for ripping sure its what I used to use.

u need something like that for ripping the norm duel layer film dvds....to fit on a single layer dvd...ie 4.7 gigs....but u still only get a video ts with this program m8....i want to rip it down to avi cos they take less space.....

the media player i bought at easter doesnt support mkv hanzy :cry:

if i had waited a month then the next model did....but aint that always the way :cry:


and m8 i use handbrake at home and at work....but for some reason.....when i make a avi from it ....every now and then the avi file jumps for a milli second...([f*cking] annoying) which is why im looking for a better converter
